“These prison walls are funny. First you hate ’em, then you get used to ’em. Enough time passes, gets so you depend on them. That’s institutionalized. They send you here for life, that’s exactly what they take. The part that counts, anyways.”

~ Ellis Boyd “Red” Redding, The Shawshank Redemption

Replace the word “prison” with “cubicle” and that succinctly describes twenty-plus years of my life on a white-collar work farm.  Some call it a career… I call it institutionalized.  I spent the last several years chronicling my career in a photographic essay which you can find on this website.

In addition to photographs, I spent a lot of time in meetings, on conference calls, or staring at the blankness of my cube wall and writing stream-of-conscious observations in the form of poems, usually quatrains. Twenty years’ worth.  I’ll be posting some of my favorites (along with supporting documentation) on this blog.
